Dare to Give Thanks

Thanksgiving 101

Psalm 100 (ESV)

 

Ø  From this psalm we learn three basic truths about giving thanks:

 

1.    Thanksgiving Is Joyful (vs. 1-2, 1 Chronicles 16:8–10, Philippians 4:4, 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, Romans 8:28, Romans 5:3–5)

 

2.    Thanksgiving Is Relational (Matthew 15:8–9)

 

  • How can we enter into an intimate knowledge of God?

a)    We must return to God (Isaiah 53:6, 1 Peter 2:25, John 17:3)

b)    We must grow in knowledge (2 Peter 3:18, Colossians 3:16)

 

3.       Thanksgiving Is Communal (Psalm 34:3, Psalm 149:1–3)
